Gustavo specializes in advising Senior executives of energy, infrastructure, natural resources, financial services and consumer goods companies, among others, on issues of talent and on the incorporation of critical resources.

Gustavo is an Industrial Engineer (Universidad Católica Argentina), graduated with honors. He received the Award for “Best Graduated Student in Engineering” in 1992 from the National Academy of Engineering and the Award for “Best Graduated Student in Industrial Engineering” that same year from the Professional Council of Industrial Engineering.

He started his career at Exxon, where he held positions in the supply, commercial and operations areas.

Additionally, in 1997, he graduated from the Harvard Business School in Boston with an MBA.

Upon graduating from the Harvard Business School, he worked for more than ten years in management and strategic consulting, initially at A.T.Kearney, where he was a Manager for the Mercosur operation, and later at The Boston Consulting Group, where he was Director for Southern Cone. He was responsible for business development and project management for leading institutions in several countries (Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, the United States, Spain and Italy).

In 2008 he joined the Argentine subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International, until he was recruited by Heidrick & Struggles to lead the re-launch of its operations in Argentina as Managing Partner in charge of the Buenos Aires office.

Gustavo was a Founding Partner of BWP (Backer Wurzel & Partners I Executive Search & Team Performance) in 2012.

In 2018, together with Daniel Posternak, he co-founded WP CONSULTANTS, an Executive Search I People & Teams firm based in Buenos Aires.

WP CONSULTANTS is a firm with a purpose: to help Boards and CEOs develop and attract executive talent, both at individual and team level.

Gustavo was Director of the Harvard Club in Argentina, an organization that brings together graduates from Harvard University in Argentina.
